Just 1% of those Africa-Middle East professionals interviewed for BigFive Digital's "Legacy with Lockdowns" online survey expect no permanent change to how they work post-pandemic. By contrast, 52% expect greater use of teleconferencing to be a permanent impact of the crisis. And 49% expect remote work to become a permanent feature of business life.
Significant minorities of respondents expect business travel, commuting, and event participation to change permanently as a result of the pandemic experience. For example, 31% expect business travel to be reduced permanently. And another 26% believe public transit use will not recover to pre-pandemic levels.
The "Legacy of Lockdowns" study surveyed 342 respondents across media, banking, telecom, software, agencies, and other relevant sectors during July and August. Respondents represented MENA, East/Central Africa, Southern Africa, and West Africa. Nearly 75% of respondents represent companies that do business with SMMEs.
The respondents hold influential roles within their organizations. More than half (51.5%) held leadership (C-suite), sales, marketing, or product development roles.
