About the BigFive Summit

The BigFive Summit assembles an exciting mix of technology companies, digital agencies, influential thought-leaders, and disruptive startups, from across the Africa/Middle East (AME) digital technology ecosystem. The objective: to highlight the enormous opportunity for bringing to market digital marketing and back-office solutions for local SMEs, while addressing the challenges in doing so.

The BigFive Summit's target audience is not the SMEs themselves but rather the community of media, telecom, financial, and technology companies bringing digital products to market for SMEs.

The Summit takes place 13-15 May at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa, and will host some of the finest digital practitioners from Africa, the Middle East and worldwide, to share strategic insights, best practices, and practical guidance for success, through a combination of thought-leading headline talks and targeted, tactical workshops. Finally, the Summit provides ample opportunities for networking and business development.

The Venue

The BigFive Summit will take place at Workshop 17, a premier mixed-use space in Cape Town’s famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront area. This modern, stylish event facility is located in the heart of Cape Town’s most popular area for international visitors, and is presently home to one of South Africa’s growing number of digital start-up accelerators, hosting a diverse range of exciting tech ventures and entrepreneurs.

Travel & Accommodation

BigFive Summit attendees will be required to book their own travel and accommodation, however the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront area is densely packed with three to five-star hotels, accommodating a range of budgets. BigFive is currently negotiating preferred rates with nearby hotels for Summit delegates. May is also outside of the main holiday season in the Cape, and many attractive flight deals can be found to Cape Town, which is served by numerous international carriers.

 Delegate Registration

We are now accepting registrations for the BigFive Summit. BigFive Digital members and Charter Sponsors have registrations included in their packages. However, for those who wish to attend the event without first joining BigFive Digital or for members and sponsors who want to purchase additional passes, we offer delegate passes at the following rates:


  • Early Bird (before 15 February 2019): US$345
  • Standard Rate: US$445
  • Less than One Month: US$545
  • Walk-in Rate: US$595
  • Spouse/Partner Rate (max one per delegate): US$195*
