Thabo Seopa

Thabo is a highly experienced businessman with more than 25 years in senior leadership positions in companies covering the financial services, consumer and media sectors.Thabo was Chief Executive Officer of Trudon, the South African publisher of Yellow and White Pages directories, from 2002 to 2017. During his 15 years in the local advertising space he was instrumental in the development and implementation of the strategy to transform the company from a traditional media business to a major player in the digital arena. The transformation entailed understanding and appreciating the intricacies and challenges of transforming from a process-based to a knowledge-based organisation, driven by an insight-led customer marketing strategy. The approach also involved migrating from obsolete skill sets with legacy systems and accompanying processes, while developing cutting edge products and services and building a new and dynamic operating culture.Thabo is founder of Awande Investment Managers, a company that invests in medium-sized businesses, specifically focusing on the Telecoms, Media & Technology sectors. He also serves as non-executive director for a number of companies (publicly listed and private).Thabo is an accomplished public speaker and he has delivered papers and presentations at numerous international conferences and events throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America.
