The conversation on small business digital presence increasingly begins with Google My Business. The BigFive Virtual Summit on 4th November features an update on GMB and new opportunities available for SMME aggregators to help their customers increase visibility by optimizing their GMB profiles.
Representing Google will be Melissa Kariuki, an Associate Product Marketing Manager at Google South Africa. Her focus at Google is bringing SMEs in Sub-Saharan Africa online and helping them grow.
Prior to Google, Melissa worked across Asia, Europe, the US, and Africa at a variety of organisations including Bain & Company, H&M, the Gates Foundation and INSEAD. She graduated from the African Leadership University in Mauritius.
The BigFive Virtual Summit is a half-day event focused on the ecosystem delivering digital solutions to SMEs in Africa-Middle East. The event's theme is: “Building a Tech-Enabled Future for AME Small Businesses”.
A variety of companies that either build solutions for or aggregate small businesses in the region will participate in the summit. So far, companies represented on the programme include Google, Uber, Vodacom, Stanard Bank, HERE Maps and many others.
